Flat conversion, Duddingston
This flat conversion came about through the Architect in the House scheme 2010. The client , who was introduced to Bergmark Architects through the scheme, had purchased this one-bedroom flat in Duddingston Village, Edinburgh, downscaling from a five-bedroom house.
Together, the architect and client developed a plan where the livingroom, kitchen and scullery were combined to form one open-plan living area with separating walls and doors removed.
Bespoke bookcases were built, a stylish contemporary kitchen and shower room were installed. A wood-burning stove became the focus of the open plan living area.
